SHEKHAWATI- THE OPEN AIR ART GALLERY

Shekhawati is famous for its  plenthora of painted havelies so as it is called  the open air art gallery. The painted havelies shows the commendable pieces of rich artistic tradition of this region .The havelies predominantly  in blue , marron , yellow , green and indigo have beautiful wall paintings that adorn the walls. Shekhawati meaning  the land of Shekha clan derives its name from  Roa Shekha[1433-1488 AD]. Shekhawati now comprises of two districts-Jhunjhunu and Sikar.
