PUSHKAR-THE BLESSING OF BRAHMA Pushkar is 11km from Ajmer , located on the edge of the desert along the bank of the picturesue pushkar lake - an important pilgrimage spot for the Hindus. The NAG -PAHAR or the snake mountain forms a natural boundary between Ajmer and Puhkar . The lake has mythological significance associated with it . According to the myth , Lord Brahma was on his way to search for a suitable place to perform a yagna [ a fire sacrifice] While contemplating a lotus fell from his hand on the earth and the water sprouted from three places.One of them was Pushkar where lord Brhama performed his yagna.The holy lake has 52 ghats and pilgrimage taking ritual dip in the lake is a common sight . The prime sites- savitri temple, Man mahal, The Brahma temple .
